Frequently asked questions

How do I start my free trial?

When you first open Utgift, tap Start free trial on the welcome screen. Your 7-day trial starts immediately — no credit card required upfront. If you don't subscribe before the trial ends, Apple will charge the annual fee automatically using the payment method on your Apple ID.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, find Utgift, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of your paid period.

I reinstalled the app — how do I restore my subscription?

Open Utgift and tap Restore purchases on the paywall screen. The app will check your App Store account and restore your subscription automatically.

How do I back up my data?

Go to Settings → Export backup. This creates a .utgift file you can save to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, email, or anywhere else. To restore, use Settings → Restore from backup and pick your file.

How do I move my data to a new phone?

Export a backup on your old phone (Settings → Export backup), transfer the .utgift file to your new phone (via AirDrop, iCloud Drive, or email), then use Restore from backup in Utgift on the new device.

Where do exchange rates come from?

Rates are fetched once daily from our own server at api.utgift.com, which pulls from a professional exchange rate provider covering 34 currencies. The rates are cached locally so the app works fully offline.

Is my financial data sent anywhere?

No. All your transactions, categories, and settings are stored only on your device. Utgift has no account system and no backend server. See our privacy policy for full details.

Can I change my base currency?

Yes — go to Settings → Base currency. When you change it, all your historical transactions are automatically reconverted using current exchange rates.

Is Android available?

Utgift is currently available on iOS only. Android is in development and will be announced on this page when it's ready.
